Happy Hour: The Angelyne - Meghan Fabulous

Happy Hour: The Angelyne

If you’ve ever cruised down the Sunset Strip in LA, then you know who Angelyne is. Maybe you don’t realize you know who she is, but I assure you: You KNOW who she is. She’s Famous. She’s a legend, actually. She was a Kardashian before the Kardashians were Kardashians. And if you don’t recognize her face right away, (that is so elusive these days...) then you for sure have seen her Barbie Pink Corvette. She was THE pioneer of self promotion: buying up Billboard after Hollywood Billboard to promote her Management Company, with heavily airbrushed images of herself scantly clad in all shades of Pink slapped across the hood of her Pink Corvette, of course. Clearly her management company was focused on the management of other things........Anyways....

Angelyne had such an inspiration on my career that I even modeled my first hangtag for my very first Clothing Brand after her WAAAAAAY back in 2002. (See self-deprecating hangtag below.)

In my eyes, Angelyne is amazing. She's not afraid to go after what she wants by any means necessary. So it's only fitting that I pay homage to Angelyne in the most fitting way possible.

My Cocktail Creation is a play on the Amaretto Sour and Blow Job, obviously.... a hybrid of all things sweet, sticky and completely over-the-top obnoxious and sexual.

I know what you are thinking: This is WAY TOO many ingredients for one Cocktail... and Yes, you are totally right. But here's the thing- Angelyne is one very elaborate Lady. The multitude of Pink. Her trademark BoyToy. Her signature Fan and Parasol. The ridiculous Pink Corvette. The Glitter, Feathers, Stripper Shoes and abundance of Fluff. It is only fitting to have a Cocktail in her honor with the same amount layers of complexity that is Angelyne. So here we go.....

In a Cocktail Shaker combine a handful of Ice Cubes, the Disaronno Liqueur, Strawberry Guava Juice and Peach Soda. Shake until well mixed and pour into the Shot Glass. Top the Drink Mix with a large helping of the Whipped Cream. Just like her Hair, the Higher the Better! Apply the Color Mist Food Color Spray to the Whipped Cream. Next, add the Neon Pink Food Coloring to the Coconut Flakes and sprinkle over the top of the Cocktail. Add the Pink Sugar Pearls, Candy Hearts, Sprinkles, Sanding Sugar and Pink Rock Candy to the top of Whipped Cream. Then take the Cake Icing and Decorating Gel and get completely messy on the top of the Whipped Cream. More is more here! Sprinkle the Edible Gold Stars over the top generously. Finally, position the Shot on top of the Pink Corvette with the Groom Cake Topper and Parasol positioned next to the Drink and Serve! (You can also add a mini bottle of Disaronno Liqueur to the top in the Whipped Cream and a Ring Pop in the Driver's seat of the Corvette- but for photography purposes, this wasn't an option.)
